Author Profile…

Zadoc is the writer and artist behind Tristan and his adventure, The brood of Adders.

Zadoc was born in Australia where he currently still lives but he had spent 15 years in Europe where he fell in love with the European style of comic writing. “Many of the European comics give great and accurate detail of the locations where the heroes and crooks have their adventures. This inspired me to go to many of these settings and so a want to see the world grew within. Wanting to taste the adventure of the many comic heroes I set off to climb the Eiffel Tower , walk around the pyramids, see the sights of Venice , explore the medieval towns of Germany , see the temples of South East Asia , sail through the Panama Canal , brave a blizzard in Canada and trek the Alps of New Zealand. After wayfaring and flying to more than 28 destinations I settled back in Australia where I started to draw up the adventure that has now become the online comic of this site.”

“I love exploring ancient and historical sites, going into wilderness regions and art is more than just a passing passion. My taste in music may be deemed unusual as I love the ancient sounds, and I don't mean from a few decades ago, I mean medieval stuff… up to 1000 years ago! For the rest, I try to be pretty normal and I reckon I usually get away with it.”

“Years ago I made a Sci-Fi comic for a local newspaper and that was it for my comic days. Then after many years of commercial art the urge came back to do a comic again, this time more seriously. I began by taking a sketch book and pencil to a public auction and sat down to draw the faces in the crowd. These became most of the players in The Brood of Adders. One of the ‘bad guys' is based on an ex-boss! If he knew, he'd love it. The whole thing took nearly two years to make. I have ideas for the next adventure but that, I'm afraid, I will keep a secret for now.”
